Sharp looking, hard wearing jacket for everyday use. Nice cut
Have been searching for a canvas jacket for a while - something hard wearing that I can wear to walk the dogs (without it ripping from little claws or thorns unlike puffball jackets), or on the train to work on a cold winter day in Boston without boiling in the bag while sitting on the train. Keeps the wind out, some insulation (but not too much) and a nice collar that keeps the wind off the neck.
I'm tall and slim too. 6' 1", 147lbs. The small fits me like a tailored suit with its 38" chest and ~34" sleeve. Really tough to find jackets for tall slim people and this really feels nice. It makes me look healthy rather than malnourished!
Looks great, well made, nice materials and details.
A Jacket For the Discerning!
I have been looking for a jacket like this, or similar for a long time. I am very picky when it comes to fit and quality. For some background, I am a "fit" baby boomer (you figure it out!), 5' 9" and 160 pounds. I do not like tight fitting clothes and favor a more traditional, comfortable fit. I purchased this jacket in medium and in gray.
I not only purchased this jacket but about 6 others from different manufacturers in both medium and large. For most other brands, medium was to constricting and large fit better but were slightly too big. When I tried on the Carver Canvas in medium it felt right, not too big and not too small. It just worked. If I had a criticism or suggestion I would say the sleeves could be a tad fuller around the elbow area, but that is a small point. This jacket is a winner, at least for me! I don't know how someone taller than me can wear a small, but fit is so personal that all I can say is try it on and see if it works.
