Was buying and realized no size selections. Lame. Get some smalls!

We agree it is a bummer that we are out of stock in a few sizes. They sure went quick!

      Great Purchase

I never write reviews but was compelled by the feedback from the previous reviewer. This shirt jacket is great! Fits well and I get complements anytime I wear it. Highly recommend giving it a shot.

      Great Fabric but fits small.

I have been looking for the perfect shirt jac for quite some time and I was really hoping this was the one. Let’s start with the positives... the fabric is incredible, extremely soft wool with a nice flex to it. Although the fabric is almost to thin to be a shirt jac. It’s more of a heave flannel weight.

The sizing is the biggest issue. I tried it on with a T-shirt and it was snug. Normally a large fits me perfect. With it being a shirt jac you expect it to be true to size or a little extra room, there is no room to layer a flannel under this jacket. The arms are perfect but the body and chest of the jacket are about two inches to small.

I am bummed because I thought this was the one. Now I have to go through the hassle of returning it and possible exchanging it for an xl. But I don’t really want to wait for the turn around it will take to mail back and reorder.

Anyway, I recommend the jacked based on the fantastic fabric but would warn you to order a size up.

Good call-out: size up if you plan to layer with thicker or multiple fabrics!

      Defective design

      By:

The design of how the bottom halves of the snaps attach to the shirt are a failed design. Within two weeks of wearing it, one snap has completely come off and most of the others are half or barely hanging on. I’m going to return this promptly. Great looking, great feeling shirt. Terrible snap design.

Hi Ryan, we are happy to take this garment back for a refund or replacement. We look forward to inspecting the Kennicott Shirtjac and working to find fix!

      Snaps fail

I followed your direction and returned my first purchase for a failed snap design (see my previous review). Now it’s my second time wearing the new/replacement shirt and one of the snaps completely tore off — a couple others are also coming apart. At this point a refund or an exchange doesn’t replace my lost time in dealing with all of it. Toad & Co — you can do better.

Unfortunately, we are seeing this snap issue to be a reoccurring occurrence with the Kennicott Shirt Jac. We are already taking the necessary steps to rectify this issue for next season's Kennicott. In the meantime, we are reaching out to you directly!

      Great looking... Questionable quality

Love the looks but after about 5 wearings two of the buttons have pulled out of the fabric making the shirt unwearable. They definitely need a more durable way of reinforcing the snaps.

      No Snap Issue Here

I'd seen this shirt online and was wary about the snap issue. But I picked one of these up at a Toad store in CO after the sales person said that the snap issue had been fixed (as of fall 2018). Happy to report that I've worn and washed a number of times and have had zero button issues - snaps work great, fit is good. I'm usually a large and the Large works great.

I didn't know wool could be this soft!

I love this Shirtjac so much.
The wool is super soft. It's a great layer for those California evenings when I am cruising on my bike. But it also dresses up nicely (over a button up shirt) for a night out.
I previously purchased this shirtjac in Fall 2017 which had the defective snaps. But I can confirm that the 2018 version has been updated, and the issue resolved. The underside of the button/snaps (part facing inside the shirt) has been reinforced with a corduroy fabric.
A big shout out to Drew from Customer Service for helping me with the return. I love that Toad stands by their product with their "we'll take it back and make it right" guarantee. Seriously, they are amazing.

      Wonderful product

I really like this shirt jacket. It's heavier than a long sleeve, but not so heavy that it interferes with days when I need to wear a winter coat. It feels good, fits even better, and is a perfect bridge for in-between days.
