Position: Production Assistant

Department: Product

Reports To: Sr. Director of Supply Chain

Location: Santa Barbara, CA


The Production Assistant will manage the day-to-day deliverables related to factory production timelines, order placement, shipment tracking to warehouse & systems data entry and assist with front-to-back quality control. This position will work directly with internal functions: Product, Design, Planning, Logistics & Sales and external vendors & freight forwarder to execute to the corporate pipeline calendar. Successful candidate will execute on a process that insures efficiency and delivery of high-quality product.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute to the established sourcing strategy to accommodate current business needs as well as long term supply chain growth.
  • Help to manage relationships with factories (and agents where applicable).
  • Work with internal cross-functional peers to execute to a seasonal calendar for sample and bulk production.
  • Work closely with Design, Materials & Product Development teams on initial style & material allocation and development trouble shooting.
  • Drive the purchasing process including materials commitments, addressing materials and factory minimums, production capacity, and lead-times.
  • Assist with seasonal cost negotiations.
  • Write and execute on purchase orders (samples and bulk production).
  • Assist with the transition from the development of our materials at the mills to the purchasing and delivery of those goods to the factories.
  • Manage on-time sample & bulk shipments to warehouse in coordination with freight forwarder, including data input/tracking via Netsuite.
  • Manage excess materials inventory and stock fabric programs.
  • Measure the performance of all factories. Work with the Sr Director of Supply Chain to put appropriate strategies in place when vendors are not meeting performance goals.
  • Execute bulk quality controls. Address any quality issues with the factory, manage charge backs if necessary and ensure measures are taken to correct the issue.
  • Work with internal & external teams to drive Sustainability initiatives related to production.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Working knowledge of garment and textile manufacturing processes.
  • Understanding of apparel product process from concept through to order delivery for knit & woven items.
  • Knowledge and understanding of forecasting, buy planning, and capacity planning.
  • 2-3 years of experience with knit and woven garments preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to obtain information from various systems. Experience with ERP & PLM systems preferred.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in written and verbal form with a diverse audience.
  • Detail oriented with strong follow through. Must be able to organize and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • Respond to clear creative direction in order to execute agreed campaign concepts and marketing strategies across various mediums (print, digital, experiential, video)
  • Translate and adapt brand positioning to on-going storytelling and content across owned channels (website, social, email)
  • Review, critique and select optimal photography for various applications including website, social, email, retail and sell-in materials
  • Assist with asset creation to support seasonal sell-in materials (workbook) and experiences (sales meeting, tradeshows)

Position: Sales Operations Associate

The Customer Service Representative will build brand awareness, trust and loyalty by providing an exceptional customer experience. This position will support all aspects of customer service via written and verbal commutation with both our direct and wholesale customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service:
    • Troubleshoot and provide accurate information to customer questions or concerns related to orders, garments, shipments, returns, exchanges, web experience, and company service & environmental initiatives
    • Ensure customer interactions and order management are tracking to departmental KPIs
    • Work with a team to process returns and exchanges to ensure a smooth transaction for the customer
    • Participate in team meetings and report any customer service related issues
    • Monitor web site reviews and respond appropriately to any customer service issues
    • Respond to customer inquiries via ERP dashboard
    • Field and follow up on missed customer phone calls and orders
  • Participate in all aspects of order management:
    • Work with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure on-time shipping; notifying customers when there are delays
    • Run oversold and allocation reporting to ensure orders are ready to ship
    • Work with customers and sales reps to make order edits, enter new orders and audit orders for accuracy
  • Handle customer inquiries through multi-channel communication (telephone, email, social etc.) to ensure a ‘wow’ customer experience
  • Product education: communicates features, benefits, fabric properties, usage, and care instructions using various channels of communication
  • Utilize all systems accurately and efficiently
  • Continually advance product knowledge
  • Provide customer insights, feedback regarding websites and processes to the management team
