Position: Omni-Channel Merchant

Department: Product/Merchandising

Location: Santa Barbara, CA


The Omni-Channel Merchant will be the central hub for buying, planning and merchandising strategies across all Toad & Co’s direct channels of business. Based on their knowledge of the customer and the market, she/he is responsible for the building and buying of profitable assortment strategies specific to regional/ channel intricacies. Analytical and organizational skills are equally as important as a superb product eye to be successful in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Own assortment buy of Toad&Co as well as third party products to drive a strategy that maximizes key areas of the business and meets the financial targets of the category and total brand.
  • Build a compelling, balanced assortment across all channels that is both consistent across markets and nuanced for discovery by locale/channel.
  • Drive the assortment strategy by influencing decisions at every stage of the product lifecycle; from concept and product development, to buying and pricing, to product placement, marketing and promotions.
  • Know customer inside and out, understand the competitive market and use knowledge, eye and intuition to translate what trends are relevant to our customer.
  • Serve as the expert in current selling analysis and historical selling knowledge across channels.
  • Inform and influence channel presentation and merch strategies (i.e. visual and promotional approach to online & retail.
  • Present, including presentations on selling analysis, business strategies, style information and trend ideas to internal teams.
  • As needed, take on special projects to support other team members.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in the field and/or a related area.
  • Experience in the apparel industry.
  • Ability to be both analytical and creative on a daily basis.
  • Excellent with Excel, Word, Internet browsers.
  • Aptitude for working with web-based tools.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent problem solving and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work well in a collaborative environment.
  • Must work well in the face of aggressive deadlines, while maintaining data integrity and accuracy.





Position: National Sales Manager, Specialty Retail

Department: Wholesale Sales

Location: Santa Barbara, CA


Objectives:

  • Own and operate wholesale sales within the Specialty Retailer channel.
  • Create and execute Specialty Retail Distribution strategy to grow revenue at the National level.
  • Increase sales with current customers (Specialty Outdoor)
  • Increase/expand distribution with new Specialty Retailers (e.g. lifestyle, fashion, surf, etc.)
  • Manage, train, and hold accountable Sales Agencies to execute on national sales strategy and tactics.
  • Create sales programs and opportunities through combination of entrepreneurial, creative, and strategic skills.
  • Build network of retailer relationships to create future pipeline of products, services and support.
  • Serve as an ambassador of Toad&Co goals, principles and culture.

Responsibilities:

  • Create strategic plan to pursue and achieve Specialty channel sales goals, including at the channel, territory, customer, and sales program levels.
  • Recruit, train, manage, and evaluate sales agencies to achieve financial and strategic sales goals.
  • Open new distribution and expand breadth of the assortments across all categories at Specialty retail
  • Define the sales tools and resources needed to achieve targets, including Sales Programs and T&E budget
  • Coordinate pre-line meetings and retailer meetings; represent the voice of retailers in product planning sessions
  • Collaborate and execute strategic programs such as Multi-Channel and online customers to grow Specialty channel revenue
  • Maintain and build account relationships with key customers by making periodic visits; exploring account needs and proactively addressing issues; provide support at all trade shows and regional shows.
  • Communicate regularly with Merchandising, Production, Marketing & Executive Management teams on sell through & sell in developments and status to ensure maximum planning and ability to react appropriately.
  • Host and lead GTM Sales Meeting process and execution; provide expert market insights at GTM meeting.
  • Coordinate with VP of Sales to ensure monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets are met; report on shortfalls and create plans to make up any gaps.
  • Use professional selling skills, category analysis, and leverage the organization to create and deliver effective and impactful presentations to introduce and sell existing/new products to all accounts.
  • Work with Marketing and Design to execute new in-store and product opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree Business Administration, Sales, or Marketing or related field, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 6-8 years of direct sales experience in the apparel or Sporting Goods Industry – particularly sales management and/or business development.
  • Strong existing relationships with specialty retailers in Outdoor, Sporting Goods, Lifestyle industries desired, including knowledge of merchandising, buying, product allocation, and retail sales analysis.
  • Knowledge of the Specialty retail industry, consumer buying patterns and retail dynamics sufficient to be credible and influential with customers.
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal) skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to work with various groups both internal and external.
  • Excellent organizational and presentation skills and attention to detail required.
  • Proven success in working with a dynamic and ever-changing environment.
  • Entrepreneurial, intelligent, self-directing, and self-confident leader.
  • Ability to travel and work within varied business hours and weekends, especially during seasonal booking deadlines, key meetings and industry shows.
  • High level of computer knowledge – Proficiency in Microsoft applications required.
  • Ability to use independent judgement in performing duties of the position.
  • Strong people management skills.

Position: Inventory Sales Lead

Department: Retail

Reports To: Retail Store Manager

Location: Portland, OR


The Inventory Sales Lead is a key part of the retail leadership team and bridges the gap between inventory operations and the sales floor. This position brings experience and confidence to the sales floor to motivate sales associates, drives sales, and provides excellent customer service. This role will provide support to operations in maintaining our inventory management system. It is a Full Time, keyholding position and weekend availability is a must. There is potential for health and dental benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a role model for friendly and brand-oriented sales
  • Maintain positive and open communication with others on the store leadership team
  • Work with both manager and operations manager to receive, organize, and prepare inventory to the floor
  • Effectively multitask and prioritize between sales floor needs and inventory management projects
  • Assists in resolving inventory discrepancies
  • Maintain merchandising standards on the sales floor
  • Help lead cycle counts on a quarterly basis
  • Help in organizing Annual Inventory
  • Communicate company and store polices and guidelines. Follow loss prevention guidelines
  • Identify, prioritize, and allocate daily tasks to sales associates.
  • Participate in store events.

Qualifications:

  • Retail experience is important, but not a requirement.
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to maintain an inventory management system. Experience with Excel is preferred.
  • Must be a problem-solver and approach challenges with a positive attitude. Willing to contribute ideas. Able to take general guidelines and turn them into action.
  • Must be comfortable in a leadership role. Able to be “in charge” when other leadership is not available.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working in group settings.
  • Able to stand/walk for extended periods of time, necessary to provide sales floor coverage related to customer service and loss prevention. Able to reach overhead, bend, squat, kneel, and carry product, necessary for customer service, inventory re-stock and store merchandising. Comfortable climbing ladders.
