How We Choose Our Partners
We only partner with factories that meet our strict ethical, social, and environmental standards, all outlined in our detailed Code of Conduct. Every factory is vetted through rigorous third-party audits, and must follow fair labor practices, maintain safe working conditions, and use responsible environmental processes. We stay closely connected with our partners and invest in long-term relationships to ensure our standards are not only met, but lived, every single day.
Our clothes are made in a handful of sustainable factories overseas, many of which we’ve partnered with for 10+ years. We choose partners based on their ethical manufacturing practices, exceptional craftsmanship, and shared commitment to environmental responsibility. Long story short: good people making great clothes.
We only work with factories that meet our strict Code of Conduct, covering detailed ethical, social, and environmental expectations.
Every partner must pass rigorous third-party audits every two years, follow fair labor practices, maintain safe working conditions, and use responsible environmental practices. We stay closely connected with our partners and focus on building long-term relationships. Our goal isn’t just compliance – it’s long-term accountability and continuous improvement.
Supply chain transparency is core to how we operate, from the farms where fibers are grown to the factories where clothes are made. We’ve traced 90%+ of our primary, secondary, and final production, including all subcontractors.
We also conduct supply chain audits every two years, regular factory visits, and maintain open communication and direct relationships with our partners. From raw materials to finished garments, we’re committed to visibility across every step.
Great question! Many of the materials and techniques we use require specialized skills and longstanding craftsmanship that simply aren’t widely available in the U.S. anymore. Our global factory partners have spent decades perfecting these methods, and have deep expertise when it comes to using low-impact materials and sustainable production.
We choose partners based on where we can achieve the highest standards for sustainability, quality, and ethical manufacturing. Often, those experts are overseas.
We reduce our environmental impact by designing a more efficient, lower-impact production process from the start.
It’s all part of our commitment to building a more responsible apparel supply chain.
We partner with factories that prioritize:
Long-term relationships also mean less waste, better planning, and ensuring consistent adherence to our sustainability standards. In short, clothes made with a whole lot of intention.
Carefully – and with a pretty high bar. Every partner must meet strict criteria for ethical sourcing, environmental responsibility, and product quality. We look for deep expertise in sustainable textiles and long-term alignment with our values. If we wouldn’t wear the clothes ourselves, they don’t make the cut.
Yes – and it’s an area we’re continually improving.
In addition to prioritizing sea freight and regional production, we’re working to support more responsible shipping practices industry-wide. In 2025, we became an ambassador for Ambassador for Blue Whales Blue Skies, an initiative focused on reducing ship strikes on endangered whales while also lowering ocean noise, air pollution, and greenhouse gas emissions.
