Why Toad: I truly love the people I work with and the world we get to create together. Toad has a special sauce of sincerity, scrappiness, and playful irreverence that I’ll never take for granted.
Alternate Career Path: In another life I’d love to be a flower farmer.
Personal Style: Consider me a forager. I love a forgotten pile of clothes to dig through. For me, the fun is half hunting, half getting dressed. My closet is a hysterical hodge podge of sizes, silhouettes, and things in various stages of repair and disrepair. The mending pile is always towering and the stacks of tees and denim are forever encroaching onto my partner’s side of the closet. It’s pretty much a given that I’ll need to try multiple versions of an outfit before settling on a final decision – who doesn’t like options?!
Best Way to Hang: I have an informal supper club with some friends and it’s always some type of soup. It’s been fun to try different recipes— and a great way to clear the pantry!
AM or PM: I’m a total night owl. I love the uninterrupted quiet, it’s the time of day when I’m most productive and focused creatively.
Favorite On-the-Go Snack: I love a chunk of good cheese, or some crunchy grapes, but I feel strongly they have to be crunchy!
Travel Dream Spots: Too many to choose! The Philippines, Korea, and Botswana are high on the list. If I had to choose today, I’d say a tour through Scandinavia to see the Northern Lights.
What You’re Reading: I just finished Anthony Bourdain’s Kitchen Confidential. It was the perfect summer read— it’s funny and curt, and a total deep dive into another industry I know so little about. I learned a ton!
Comfort Shows: I grew up on a steady diet of Project Runway, The Food Network, and Antique’s Road Show. Turns out you are what you eat: I still love clothes, good food, and other people’s old things.
Favorite Outside Activities: Okay you’re gonna laugh— in the spring my partner and I like to go on hikes and race to count how many ladybugs we can find. Whoever counts the most wins, but only until the next hike. Needless to say, we hike really slowly.
Always In Your Car: A swimsuit, just in case the ocean calls.
Under-Packer or Over-Packer: I’d say I’m a recovering over-packer. My Mom used to laugh that my suitcase was like a clown car, packed down so small only to explode all over the place whenever I landed at my destination. I’d like to say I’ve become a more thoughtful packer over the years, leaving room for the inevitable pile of souvenirs and trinkets I couldn’t possibly live without.
I love this riff on an outdoor classic. Unlike her vintage relatives made from stiff canvas, this barn jacket has great stretch for easy mobility through the shoulders and back.
My go-to Toad pant! The fit on these is phenomenal and the denim has great stretch and won’t bag out. I’m loving the railroad stripe this season, it goes with everything and also makes every outfit a little more fun.
Overalls and anything overall adjacent are great for their versatility— I’ll wear this jumper with a tee and some Doc Marten oxfords or layered up with a sweater and vintage campus boots.
The fit on this is just right! It’s a little relaxed, but you won’t get lost in the volume. Perfect for all year round— over dresses in the spring and into fall paired with some favorite 501s.
This is my favorite tee that we make. The details are feminine without being fussy and it feels a little more special than an average tee, but just as easy to wear.
This hoodie’s texture is inspired by some vintage waffle knits we love. The proportions are nice too— I call it perfectly oversized and undersized in all the right places. Nice generous sleeve and cozy hood, with a slightly shorter body length.
Personally, I’ll buy this one a size up and really lean into the slouchy sweater vibe. I love the super soft chenille yarn, and the sunflower motif is the perfect pop of yellow.
This one’s at the top of my holiday gifting list, the yarn is fuzzy and beautifully soft, and there’s really something for everyone in the color lineup this season.
